How It All Began!
The idea for Stepping Into the Shade started with a short film directed by Andrew Ellison.
Andrew was attending Eastern State Connecticut University as was a student of the film’s co-directors and producers, Brian J. Day and Kristin Morgan.
Inspired by Andrew’s short film, Brian, Kristin and Andrew teamed up to make this episodic series!
While Andrew’s film opened the discussion of tobacco industry in CT, we hope our series will engage the audience and educate them on the history of tobacco, it’s role in the migrant worker community, growth of minority communities and its connection to the Civil Rights era.
